IRRIGATION

April's is the ideal time to inspect your irrigation system and get it tuned up for the growing season. The link below will take you to the Irrigation Worksheet on our website:
To worksheet.
Print yourself a copy and take it outdoors with you. Then turn on all of the sprinklers and fill out the worksheet. Observe which ones aren't hitting their target areas and then make the necessary adjustments. Determine which heads are clogged with debris and then unscrew the nozzle to clean them out. Finally, take a weed eater and cut a ring shape around each sprinkler head to remove the grasses that interfere with the water flow of the nozzle. We refer to this as "ringing the irrigation."
Avoid a rigid irrigation schedule.

FOLLOW APRIL'S SCHEDULE ONLY IF THE MONTH DOESN'T BRING RAIN:

Split your watering time into thirds. Water the first interval at 1:00 A.M.,
the second interval at 3:00 A.M., and the third interval at 5:00 A.M.

  • Run impact pop-ups and single stream rotors for 36 min. (3, 12 min. intervals) every 5th day or as needed.
  • Run muti-stream rotors for 45 min. (3, 15 min. intervals) every 5th day or as needed.
